Top scorers: Walker takes the lead, Boers in hot pursuit
On the women’s top scorers list, Frédérique Matla (Den Bosch) and Yibbi Jansen (SCHC) now have a comfortable lead over their rivals. In the men’s competition, Oranje-Rood forward Struan Walker has taken the lead from Fabian Verzuu (HDM), but Den Bosch defender Timo Boers is hot on the Scot’s heels.
Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse Women
After six match rounds, Den Bosch forward Frédérique Matla is the undisputed top scorer in the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse. Her fifteen goals set a new record for this stage of the league. But the performance of her closest competitor, Yibbi Jansen, is also impressive.
Jansen is currently the only player who can keep up with Matla. The SCHC penalty corner specialist has scored twelve goals after six matches, a personal best for her at this stage of the season. It is also a club record, as only Ginella Zerbo has ever reached double figures after six match rounds. She managed ten goals in the 2018–2019 season.
Just how remarkable Matla’s goal tally is becomes clear when you look at the current league table. The Den Bosch goalscorer has scored more on her own than any of the entire squads of Rotterdam (twelve goals), Hurley (eleven), Bloemendaal (ten), Oranje-Rood (nine), HGC (eight), HDM (four) and Victoria (two).

Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse Men
After six match rounds, Struan Walker has taken over the top spot on the top scorers’ list from HDM striker Fabian Verzuu. The Scottish striker from Oranje-Rood scored a hat-trick against Tilburg (1–7) last Thursday and added two more goals to his tally on Sunday against Bloemendaal (3–2): he now has nine goals to his name.
Behind Walker is Timo Boers with eight goals. The Den Bosch defender is the most prolific player of this calendar year, having scored 27 goals throughout 2026. With that tally, he has set a club record at Den Bosch: never before has a player from the Brabant-based club scored so many goals in a single calendar year. The previous record was also held by Boers: 26 goals throughout 2025.
Following in the footsteps of Walker and Boers, Mustapha Cassiem (Amsterdam) and Verzuu have each scored seven. After six match rounds, the Hague-based forward remains the player who has scored the most field goals this season (seven).
