The summer transfer window (women): HDM and HGC undergo a transformation

No other club signed as many players this summer as HDM. The Hague-based side added no fewer than ten new faces to their squad. Isa Bosgraaf and Claire Fischer joined from Groningen, whilst Magali Roumen, Daane Koch and Lise Bom made the move from Promotieklasse Ring Pass.

In addition, HDM signed goalkeeper Iza Osborne from Huizen and Olivia Huisman joined from Hurley. Irish player Jessica McMaster, Alice Roeper – who has returned from university hockey in the US – and youth player Floor Holzenbosch complete the long list of new arrivals.

Four players left HDM. Talented players Yara Akkerman and Roos Alkemade left together for Amsterdam, goalkeeper Julia Remmerswaal moved to HGC and Lotte Beetsma opted for Pinoké.

Changing of the guard at HGC
There were also significant changes at HGC. The Wassenaar-based team said goodbye to ten players and brought in nine in return. Among others, Julia Remmerswaal, Nina Rondberg and several players from American university hockey joined the squad.

This was offset by a significant exodus. Isis van Loon moved to Den Bosch, goalkeeper Sofie ter Kuile to Bloemendaal and the German Lilly Stoffelsma to Kampong. Amy van den Bosch, Mikki Roolaart and the Spanish sisters Anna and Mariona Serrahima were also among those who left the club.

End of an era at SCHC
At SCHC, the departure of Xan de Waard and Famke Richardson marked the end of a particularly successful era. Both players retired after years of playing a defining role in Bilthoven. Goalkeepers Elodie Picard and Rifka Bakker, and midfielder Naomi Brunsveld, also left.

The Bilthoven-based club signed two Belgian internationals from Braxgata: Camille Belis and Louise Dewaet. Goalkeeper Phileine Hazen joined from Bloemendaal and Sophie Schelfhout made the move from Hurley.

Hurley compensated for Schelfhout’s departure with the arrival of three international players from abroad. New Zealander Olivia Shannon, Australian Amy Lawton and American Beth Yeager joined the club in the Amsterdamse Bos. Brunsveld also made the move from SCHC to Hurley.

Exodus at Pinoké
No fewer than five players left Pinoké: Elin van Erk, Nina van der Marel, Amber Ezechiels, Marloes Timmermans and Anouk Stam. Meeuw Tulp will also not be returning to the squad. Furthermore, Daan Sabel stepped down as head coach after many years in the role. De Steekneuzen announced three new players: Teuntje de Wit joined from Den Bosch, Lotte Beetsma from HDM and Noa van Leer from Huizen.

Den Bosch kept things relatively quiet once again. The club bid farewell to De Wit and Josephine Bekkers and strengthened its squad with Isis van Loon and Brechtje van Santbrink. The latter joined from Rotterdam.

International boost for Rotterdam
Rotterdam brought three foreign players to the port city: Maddie Zimmer, Biba Mills and Niamh Carey. Femke van Casteren and Bo van Kempen also joined the squad. On the other hand, five players left, including Brechtje van Santbrink and Iris Langejans.

Bloemendaal bid farewell to six players and welcomed four newcomers. Sofie ter Kuile, Hannah Salden, Aafke Schrievers and Kiki van Geldorp will be wearing the orange shirt next season. Demi Hilterman and Sterre Bregman, amongst others, have retired.

Amsterdam signs Australian international
As mentioned, Amsterdam signed the HDM duo Yara Akkerman and Roos Alkemade and also strengthened their squad with Australian international Kaitlin Nobbs. Youth player Sophia Gilden has been promoted to the first team. Sabine Plönissen has retired and the Chinese player Li Hong has returned to her home country.

Kampong, who finished an impressive fourth in the league table last season, welcomed Mikki Roberts, Lilly Stoffelsma and youth player Sarah Koppe to their ranks. ORANJE-ROOD welcomed five new players, whilst newly promoted Victoria bolstered their squad with, amongst others, Joy Haarman, Roos Ezendam and Sabine van Eijnden.
