English international Fiona Crackles heads to Amsterdam
Just before the start of the Hoofdklasse season, Amsterdam have strengthened their squad with the signing of England international Fiona Crackles. The 26-year-old midfielder joins from Wimbledon.
Crackles has made 77 appearances for England and played 54 international matches for Great Britain. She was part of the British squad that won bronze at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. A year later, she won gold with England at the Commonwealth Games. Crackles was also part of England’s World Cup squad this summer, which finished ninth.
‘In Fiona, we’re bringing in a player who has stood on the top step of the podium and who will immediately strengthen our team with her experience, game intelligence and mentality,’ says Amsterdam’s technical manager Ellen Hoog.
