Former Pinoké forward Marlon Landbrug is making a surprise return to the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse. The 27-year-old forward had retired, but has picked up his stick again and will join newly promoted SCHC this season.

Landbrug brought his career in top-flight hockey to an end in 2024, after playing for Pinoké for many years. With the Amsterdam club, he became national champion in 2023 and won the Euro Hockey League a year later.

After a two-year absence, the former Dutch international (three caps) is back on the pitch. At SCHC, who were crowned champions of the Promotieklasse last season, he will make his return to the top flight at the end of this month. SCHC kick off the league campaign on Sunday 27 September with a home match against ORANJE-ROOD.

Between 2015 and 2024, Landbrug played nine seasons for Pinoké in the Hoofdklasse. During that period, he scored 31 goals. The 2017–2018 season was his most productive, with nine goals for the ‘Steekneuzen’.
