Hurley’s women’s team have overtaken Rotterdam to take fourth place in the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse table. On Sunday, the eighth round, Hurley won 3-0 at home against Kampong, whilst Rotterdam suffered a 4-0 defeat against league leaders Den Bosch, who still have a perfect record. At the bottom of the table, Bloemendaal secured an important victory. Victoria, who remain bottom of the table with no points, were beaten 3-1. Pinoké squandered a 2-0 lead against Oranje-Rood (2-2), whilst SCHC and Amsterdam had an easy afternoon against HDM (0-5) and HGC (0-4) respectively.

Bloemendaal - Victoria 3-1

In the relegation battle of the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse, Bloemendaal came out on top. The 3-1 victory saw the home side climb to a safe ninth place.

At half-time, Bloemendaal were still trailing 1-0. Claire Moerman, who was later forced off with an arm injury, had converted the penalty stroke awarded after ten minutes. Three minutes after the break, Bloemendaal had turned the match around. After Victoria’s defence failed to clear the ball from their own circle, Ryanne van Dooijeweerd scored the equaliser. A minute later, Malou Nanninga slotted home a penalty stroke for the home side. In the closing stages, Ankelein Baardemans capitalised on a turnover by Victoria. The club’s top scorer sealed the 3–1 victory with her fifth goal of the season.

It was the home side’s second win in their last nine matches. The victory means the gap between Bloemendaal and Victoria now stands at seven points. Victoria remain without any points and have been waiting for a win for sixteen top-flight matches. They have lost their last twelve league matches at the highest level.

HDM – SCHC 0–5

Within seven minutes, SCHC had all but sealed the match against HDM. Belgian player Louise Dewaet opened the scoring with her first goal in an SCHC shirt. Three minutes later, Jip Dicke slotted home a backhand for her sixth of the season.

Before half-time, Yibbi Jansen made it 0-3 from a penalty corner. In the final quarter, Maud van den Heuvel extended the lead to 0-4, and Jansen sealed the 0-5 victory with her second goal. That goal marked Jansen’s 150th top-flight goal for SCHC and was also her 200th official goal whilst playing for the Bilthoven-based side.

With this victory, SCHC are now unbeaten in 31 league matches away from home. For HDM, it was their sixth consecutive home defeat. Furthermore, the Hague side have failed to score in their last three matches in front of their own fans. HDM have slipped to tenth place in the league table.

Den Bosch – Rotterdam 4–0

It was Frédérique Matla’s day at the Oosterplas. She scored all of Den Bosch’s goals, taking her season tally to twenty goals after just eight matches. What’s more, Matla has found the net in each of the last fourteen match rounds. During that run, she has scored no fewer than 39 goals. It could have been forty, but in the first quarter Matla hit the post with a penalty stroke.

Den Bosch remain top of the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse without dropping a single point. The team have won their last fourteen league matches. Furthermore, Den Bosch have kept a clean sheet in seven consecutive matches. For Rotterdam, the defeat brought an end to a run of five matches without defeat. As a result, the team dropped from fourth to fifth place in the league table.

Pinoké – Oranje-Rood 2–2

Thanks to goals from Sam Luttmer, from a penalty corner, and Lana Kalse, Pinoké looked set for victory after two quarters. Ultimately, the home side came away with just one point from the match against Oranje-Rood. In the third quarter, Thirsa Kho reduced Eindhoven’s deficit to 2-1 from a penalty corner, after which Merel Voerman scored the equaliser following a fine piece of play by Lynn Vasterman.

For Oranje-Rood, it was their third away match in a row to end in a draw. The Eindhoven side have now gone three matches without a win. Pinoké, too, have gone three league matches without a victory. The draw did little to improve either side’s position in the table. Pinoké remain seventh on nine points, whilst Oranje-Rood are eighth, also on nine points.

Hurley - Kampong 3-0

For the first time since 30 September 2023, Hurley beat Kampong again. On that occasion, the score was 3-1 at the Amsterdamse Bos. This time, the final score was 3-0.

Romée Corver opened the scoring for the home side after twelve minutes. The smothered penalty corner was played by Fiona Morgenstern to Corver, who tapped it in at the far post. Six minutes after the break, Dymph Luttge doubled the lead. She made it 2–0 with a well-placed penalty corner. Hurley’s third goal also came from a penalty corner. At first, the corner appeared to have failed, but stopper Philine Vinkesteijn left Kampong goalkeeper Babette Backers with no chance with a crisp shot.

With this victory over Kampong, Hurley climbed to fourth place in the league table, overtaking Rotterdam. Kampong remain sixth, four points behind Hurley, following their third defeat of the season.

HGC – Amsterdam 0–4

Just like SCHC and Den Bosch, Amsterdam enjoyed a trouble-free afternoon. In Wassenaar, HGC were beaten 4-0.

Two well-taken penalty corners from Imke Verstraeten either side of half-time laid the foundations for the Amsterdammers’ sixth win of the season. Verstraeten also had a chance to score a third, but her penalty stroke was saved by HGC goalkeeper Julia Remmerswaal. The other Amsterdam goals were scored by Ivy Tellier and Freeke Moes, who sealed the final score with a solo effort.

Amsterdam are now unbeaten in eighteen consecutive away matches and have won their last four away fixtures. In the last three, Amsterdam kept a clean sheet. HGC lost six of their first eight matches this season.
