Reigning national champions Amsterdam secured a last-gasp victory over their neighbours Hurley (2–3) on Thursday evening. It was a thrilling encounter at ’t Kopje between Bloemendaal and Pinoké, which ended 5–5. On the third round, Kampong showed no mercy to newly promoted Victoria. The final score was 8-0 in favour of coach Kai de Jager’s side. Yibbi Jansen scored a hat-trick in SCHC’s 5-0 victory over Oranje-Rood.

Hurley – Amsterdam 2–3

For three quarters, Hurley looked set to secure their very first home victory in the Hoofdklasse against Amsterdam, but Albert Kees Manenschijn’s side were left empty-handed when the final whistle blew. It all started so well for the home side. After a goalless first quarter, Dymph Luttge put Hurley ahead with a brilliant backhand. After the break, Renske Balemans made it 2-0. In the final quarter, Amsterdam staged a comeback. After Imke Verstraeten had scored the equaliser from a penalty corner, Hurley player Philine Vinkesteijn was sent off with a yellow card. The score was levelled at 2–2 immediately afterwards. Verstraeten scored again, after which Fay van der Elst fired Amsterdam to victory.

Bloemendaal – Pinoké 5–5

The 25th meeting between the two sides resulted in the highest-scoring encounter between Bloemendaal and Pinoké. After four quarters, the score was 5-5. This scoreline had only been seen three times before in a Hoofdklasse Women’s match. By half-time, seven goals had been scored and Pinoké led 4–3. For Bloemendaal, Ankelein Baardemans scored her first hat-trick in the Hoofdklasse, whilst Isa Huybers secured a point for the home side with her second goal of the match. That was also Bloemendaal’s first point of the season. For Pinoké, Juul Sauer scored twice, taking her season tally to three goals – the same as Lana Kalse, who was prolific from a penalty stroke.

Victoria – Kampong 0–8

In Rotterdam on Thursday evening, Kampong equalled their biggest ever away win with an 0-8 victory over Victoria. In 2003, Bloemendaal were beaten by the same scoreline. Bente van der Veldt scored three goals, her second hat-trick in the Hoofdklasse. Eline Jansen and Iris de Kemp each scored twice, whilst Mea de Vries was also prolific for the visitors from Utrecht, who have now scored at least once in forty consecutive away matches. Newly promoted Victoria suffered their third consecutive defeat and, as the bottom side of the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse, remain without any points. The team have now gone eleven matches without a win at the top level.

SCHC – Oranje-Rood 5–0

With her fourteenth hat-trick in the Hoofdklasse, Yibbi Jansen played a major part in SCHC’s 5-0 victory over Oranje-Rood. In the second quarter, Jip Blaas equalised, before Daphne Koolhaas put Rotterdam back in front before half-time. After the break, Madeleine Zimmer extended Rotterdam’s lead.
