The tireless Matla has now scored in ten consecutive match rounds

The current run spans two seasons. Matla scored in the last six league matches of the 2025–2026 season and has since been prolific in all four of this season’s match rounds. This brings her run to ten matches in a row.

After four match rounds this season, Matla has already scored nine goals. This puts her at the top of the Hoofdklasse scoring charts, just ahead of her competitors Yibbi Jansen (eight goals).

Personal record still a long way off
Scoring in ten consecutive match rounds is remarkable, but Matla has previously achieved a much longer run herself. Her personal record stands at eighteen consecutive league matches with at least one goal. That run dates back to the 2020–2022 season.

At the time, this brought her very close to the all-time record in the Hoofdklasse Women. That record is held by Lisanne Lejeune, who scored in twenty consecutive league matches during her career. This occurred in the 1986–1987 season, when she found the net in twenty consecutive match rounds from the start of the season.

Goal-scoring streak continues
Matla’s current scoring run is part of a longer period in which she has been finding the net almost constantly. Last season she scored 24 league goals for Den Bosch, and she has made another flying start this season.

It is also striking that she is not only a threat from set pieces. Matla recently reached the milestone of one hundred field goals in the Hoofdklasse, whilst she has, of course, also been one of the league’s most dangerous penalty corner takers for many years.

On Sunday, Matla will have the chance to extend her run. Den Bosch will be away to Amsterdam at the Wagener Stadium.
