Oranje-Rood aims for a new club record against HDM

Oranje-Rood men’s team can set a new club record on Sunday against HDM by remaining unbeaten in a home match for the nineteenth time in a row.

Since their 2–3 home defeat to Bloemendaal on 27 October 2024, the Eindhoven side have recorded fourteen wins and four draws on their own turf. That run equals the club record set between 2021 and 2023 (W13 D5). A win or a draw against HDM will see that club record broken.

This impressive home run forms part of a much broader run of strong form. Oranje-Rood have now gone 26 league matches unbeaten in total (W19 D7), since a 2–1 defeat away at Bloemendaal in April 2025.

This is a significant improvement on the club record and has now placed the team high up in the all-time rankings of the Hoofdklasse Men. Only seven unbeaten runs in the history of the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse have lasted longer.

The winning streak on home turf is also remarkable. Oranje-Rood have won their last seven home matches, thereby already setting a new club record. The previous record stood at six consecutive home wins. Against HDM, the team can therefore extend that run to eight.

Moreover, Sunday’s opponents look favourable on paper. Oranje-Rood have never lost to HDM in the Hoofdklasse: of the ten matches between the two sides, the Eindhoven team have won nine and drawn one. In Eindhoven, their record is even perfect: five matches, five wins.
