Den Bosch v Pinoké: the most one-sided fixture in Hoofdklasse history
Den Bosch and Pinoké face each other on Sunday in what, statistically speaking, is the most one-sided long-running fixture in the history of the Staatsloterij Hoofdklasse Women. Of the fifty previous matches, Den Bosch have won no fewer than 48.
No other fixture that has been played at least thirty times has such a lopsome head-to-head record. In fifty encounters, Pinoké have recorded just one victory, with one match ending in a draw.
Den Bosch has thus won 96 per cent of all Hoofdklasse matches against Pinoké. Their dominance is complete on home turf too: the Den Bosch side have emerged victorious from all 25 previous home matches against the ‘Steekneuzen’.
For Frédérique Matla, Pinoké is also a particularly welcome opponent. The Den Bosch striker has already scored 31 goals against Pinoké in the Hoofdklasse, more than against any other club. Her second-favourite opponent is HGC, against whom she has scored 23 times.
With those 31 goals, Matla also ranks highly in the all-time list of goalscorers against Pinoké. Only Maartje Paumen (42 goals) and Kim Lammers (36) have scored more often against the Amsterdam side.
On Sunday, Den Bosch will therefore have the chance to further extend its exceptional run against Pinoké, although the Steekneuzen will do everything in their power to finally come away with something from a match at the Oosterplas.
